Bob Laurie sent along these snapshots of the crew's mess, taken in about 1955. The first is a view looking toward the port side of the aft bulkhead. On that bulkhead is a rack for books and games that may have been removed shortly in the Phila yards. The second shot is the crew watching a movie. The file reel can be see at the right edge of the shot, and the sceen would be down to the left, covering the sinks. The third shot is looking toward the port side of the forward bulkhead. I suspect the shelf was also about to be removed in the yards. That's Bob Laurie dead center. Finally, a shot toward the starboard side of the forward bulkhead. The coffee pot is behind the two crew members on the right.
