Bob Souden QMC (SS) has generously provided a large number of very interesting photos. This group shows what started out as a qualification party in Bermuda early in 1961 (reportedly January), but soon became mayhem.
Shown here is the mob which turned the qualification dunking of a newly qualified engineman into a swim party. Prominent in the floral trunks is Captain Apthorp. To the Captain's right is Alteri EN3 (SS).
Standing on the planes is an electrician; in the water, Chief Greenwood RMC (SS); flying in the air is Bodner RM2 (SS).
Matzelle EN3 (SS) said, “You wouldn't dare; I'm dressed up”, along with other enginemen, including Alteri.
Well, he misjudged. In he goes!
